Because they ruined the magic and uniqueness of Yoda. His point is that he is surprising: you would not expect him to be a warrior(which he points out he isn't). He is a wise and peaceful old sage that has seen war and its destructive power, and? decided to be a peaceful monk. Yoda is not a warrior and never has been. The prequels ruined him utterly, but I do not care, because I only remember him on Dagobah. His legacy is that of sayings, not of swords and bloodshed. He is above that.

into his original mindset. The third one IS dark no? doubt about that. I'm saying cliches convey the fact that this takes place before the originals story wise. Think of real life and expressions we use to use in the 1970s, they appear very corny as of now. ANY character development is better than Leias in the original. In fact the Han/Leia love scenes were much worse than the Anakin/Padme ones. Especially because he looks like hes about to rape her every time. C3PO is an asshole, Ewoks galore

The love scenes were bad, but they had to be there. You realize that Luke and Leia had to be born correct? and with that a love had to be formed? YES it could have been executed better. But saying you didn't want it is fucking stupid. THATS what the originals developed from so no shit they would be there. Going back whats wrong with Yoda Vs. Dooku? So you say you didn't want a rehash but then you say you expected scenes like this? What makes this scene so fantastic is seeing such an experienced? master brought down. Anakins downfall developed this type of mindset for Yoda. Luke is special because he's the last hope and thats why this works. Who the fuck would be giving inspirational lines and who would be taking it? For what purpose? Obi-Wan was very believable, as was Palpatine especially, and Anakin the character had a believable turn

We didn't expect a rehash. We were expecting movies with good, believable characters, a good story, and well-done dialogue. We expected scenes like this one, not Yoda whipping out a baby lightsaber? to fight Dooku. We didn't want the horrendous love scenes between Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. Just because the prequels are "supposed" to be dark and cliche doesn't give them an excuse to be bad. The originals may have their problems, but still stand up better than the prequels any day.

Yes. Only bad actor is Hayden and Lloyd. Rest are? great. People apparently expected a fucking rehash of the originals. The story to the originals obviously wouldn't be a warm one. Hayden still suffices. The dialogue is meant to convey the past, so the cliches actually have purpose. If anything I have more problems with the originals. Leias crappy development, Luke whining when everyone tells him exactly what to do, plot armor up the wazoo
