My thoughts on, and how have overcome social anxiety and negative thoughts. CBT is what I use and it is very very good at helping you think more positively and just feeling better overall. Give me some feedback!

I first had Schizotypal, then when OCD set upon me, i was also diagnosed with depression, and as the OCD started to go away, social anxiety and low? self esteem became more prominent.

LOOK PEOPLE IN THEIR EYES no one gave you SAD, not even you did. its just are bodies reaction to things we dont wanna say or do...when u care too much of what people say YOU ARE GIVING THEM POWER THEY DONT DESERVE. just bounce back, and i promise the biggest thing that will help and helped me. look people in their eyes, i know its uncomfortable but you will notice they are doing? the same thing to you..eye contact..simple and effective, you will notice yourself connecting, a wonderful feeling..

I never had Social Anxiety Disorder. This is more about just not giving a shit what people think. It's about Social Anxiety in terms of being "shy" which everyone experiences, which I? used to be and am not anymore.

Social Anxiety is not really the same as? shyness. Shyness is something you outgrow, something which doesn't disrupt and ruin your life. Social Anxiety is a disorder of your thought patterns, which is much more invasive than shyness.

My shyness is also worse if I'm talking to someone who is an? authority figure, such as a teacher, a doctor,a dentist, etc...
By: Kristiniskool. on 21 Apr 09, 22:25:37
yeah, you're right. What I mean though is: could having ocd make shyness worse? Well, first off, I used to be REAL shy. How my shyness is now is that I sometimes get nervous when I talk to people I don't know that well. And when I get nervous, the words that come out of my? mouth sound like jibber jabber. It's embarrasing! lol. It's worse when a group of people are standing around. Sometimes I get so nervous that I blank and forget what I was going to say.
By: JohnTheEng. on 21 Apr 09, 21:10:10
No shyness is not part of OCD. If that were true then it could be argued that 50% of the population have OCD! IMO being shy is social anxiety, because you feel limited towards your social actions since you're afraid of how people will react and what they will think about you. How shy are you? I used to be shy? in situations where I met new people, so what I did was I decided to just start talking to people everywhere. This had a tremendously positive effect on me, and you should do it too!

social anxiety-you mean being shy? And I am shy, so do you think that my shyness could be? a part of my ocd?
