You seem to have missed the point. I'm pointing out the inherent contradiction of the idea behind "independent woman"...If one is independent, then by definition, one doesn't need anyone. So logically, why would a man pursue a woman who doesn't need him to begin with?? Wouldn't it be in his best interests if he pursue other women instead?

I don't date the "strong, independent" women, ever. I'm not really into power struggles and drama and conflict and bullsh-t. These sorts of women ("strong, independent") never fail to create those sorts of situations in their lives, so I just avoid any "driven, ambitious" woman. I date more laid back, demure? women and I'm happier for it.

Any man or woman in a healthy relationship should be independent. That doesnt mean that both shouldnt help & love eachother, for the sake of the other. To? boast or label yourself as "strong" and "Independent" is quite meaningless. The same way a low-esteemed male might brag that he's "never been to prison" or if he's a father he "takes care of his kids"... as if you're actually saying something profound.... no there's nothing special about these statements. Any ADULT woman or man should have a certain level of strength of character and independence that indicates their growth and maturity as adult human beings. There's no point bragging.
